Department: Pharmacy Services - Oncology
Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Location: OHA Cancer Center - 3699 Epworth Road Newburgh, Indiana 47630

Responsibilities: Assure the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication orders in specialized areas, such as nuclear medicine, oncology, cardiology. Serve as a subject matter expert in pharmacy discipline and provide guidance across pharmacies and to clinical leadership.

• Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.
• Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
• Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.
• Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
• Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
• Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
• Assist with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
• May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.
• Provide patient counseling when required.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
• Indiana pharmacist license

Education:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

Preferences:

• Completion of PGY2 pharmacy residency in Oncology or 3 years relevant oncology/ambulatory care experience
• Oncology Pharmacy Specialty Certification a plus
