Description: Position Summary:\n
The Technician Operations Tech Lead Pharmacist is a licensed pharmacist responsible for overseeing the daily activities of pharmacy technicians and ensuring operational excellence within the pharmacy department. This position bridges the gap between clinical oversight and technician workflow optimization, ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency in medication distribution processes. The Tech Lead Pharmacist serves as a role model, resource, and mentor to pharmacy staff and works closely with the pharmacy leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:
\n
• Supervise and coordinate the daily work of pharmacy technicians to ensure timely and accurate medication dispensing and distribution.
\n
• Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to technicians and junior staff.
\n
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies regarding pharmaceutical handling and technician scope of practice.
\n
• Act as a liaison between pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy leadership to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.
\n
• Monitor and maintain pharmacy automation systems and other operational technology, ensuring optimal function and addressing technical issues.
\n
• Develop, implement, and improve operational procedures to enhance productivity and quality of service.
\n
• Assist with inventory management, audits, and quality assurance processes.
\n
• Support and promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and customer service excellence.
\n
• Participate in departmental meetings, initiatives, and training programs as needed.

Qualifications:
\n
Education:
\n
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm)
\n
\n
Licensure/Certification:
\n
• Active pharmacist license in AZ.
\n
• IV certification (if required by state/regulation)
\n
• Certification in lean/six sigma or pharmacy operations (preferred)
\n
\n
Experience:
\n
• 2+ years of pharmacy experience, with 1+ year in a supervisory or team lead role preferred
\n
• Experience working with and directing pharmacy technicians in a hospital or high-volume retail/central fill setting
\n
\n
Skills and Competencies:
\n
• Strong leadership and communication skills
\n
• Proficiency in pharmacy information systems and automation technology
\n
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
\n
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and technician scope of practice
\n
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem-solving
\n
\n
Work Environment:
\n
• Fast-paced pharmacy environment
\n
• May involve long periods of standing, computer use, and interaction with pharmacy automation
\n
• May require rotating shifts, weekends, or holidays depending on operational needs

Rate: USD $100,000 to $120,000
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Active unencumbered Technician Operations Tech Lead Pharmacist Arizona state license
- Graduate from a fully accredited Technician Operations Tech Lead Pharmacist program
- One year of work experience as Technician Operations Tech Lead Pharmacist
- One year of EMR experience
- Board Certified
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm)
- Active pharmacist license in AZ.

- Two or more years of pharmacy experience, with 1+ year in a supervisory or team lead role preferred

- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
