Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Public Health Discipline: RN Duration: 26 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours Employment Type: Travel The Public/Community Health Nurse (PHN) is responsible for the mental and physical well-being of the community by ensuring the public’s health through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, and education. The Public/Community Health Nurse (PHN) can work in a variety of institutions such as the community, hospitals, clinics, or long-term care facilities while collaborating with state regulators, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to keep the community safe and healthy.
