$30,000 Sign on Bonus for Eligible Candidates!
Scheduled Hours: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, rotating weekend shift 7:00am - 7:00pm
Brief Overview:
As a Pharmacist at Great River Health, you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective medication therapy while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. You'll serve as a trusted medication expert, helping optimize patient outcomes across a variety of clinical settings.
Key responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and dispense medications safely and accurately.
- Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff regarding medication selection, dosing, monitoring, interactions, and adverse effects.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in clinical pharmacy services, including pharmacokinetic monitoring, anticoagulation management, and emergency response activities.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary patient care rounds and provide evidence-based medication recommendations.
- Prepare and verify sterile compounds according to established policies and quality standards.
- Support the development, implementation, and growth of clinical pharmacy programs and medication-use initiatives.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Assist with medication inventory management, procurement, and pharmacy operations.
- Educate healthcare professionals, pharmacy students, interns, and other learners on medication-related topics and best practices.
- Serve on committees and interdisciplinary teams focused on improving patient care and medication safety.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited college of pharmacy Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Pharmacy Required
- Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Pharmacy (PharmD) Preferred
- Experience in a clinical or retail pharmacy setting Preferred
- Previous computer experience Preferred
- Pharmacist Iowa Board of Pharmacy (United States of America) within 90 Days Required
